I found out about this while perusing a homeschooling site and then Dad heard of it through a customer he services. You can find people to take stuff you don't want anymore through it so you don't have to just chuck the stuff or go the give-it-to-the-charity route all the time.

I didn't know if there would be a chapter near me, but sure enough there is and it is quite active. They are all over the world so you don't have to be in the USA to join up and freecycle.
