Great news- But I feel old!

Post by Fridge »

Found out a couple of days ago that my son and daughter-in-law who live in Perth, Australia are expecting a baby(well she is anyway :-D ) in June next year.

I'm chuffed to bits, but this means I will only just have turned 40

Surely I'm too young for the pipe and slippers? :(

Of course, now that 'er indoors knows this, guess where we will be going on holidays for the foreseeable future? guess who won't have any choice in the matter?

Answers on a postcard to.....
Ach, if Dougie was here he'd tell you himself....

Well...I'm the dreaded Four-Oh next year and I'm already a Grandfather to eighteen month old Connor...and it's great. After the intial shock wore off the enjoyment begins, and you get to give them back! A boundless well of love and fun awaits. Congratulations mate.
A June birthday eh? Well, my Connor was born on MY birthday in June...can you match that? :-D

I'm 40 and Leon is 40 too next year, but neither of us are old gummers yet!

I must say I sure like seeing those pics of Connor though. :love7: Such a cutie! I hope you will share pics with us of your grandbaby, Fridge.

Interestingly enough, the baby is due on the 5th June wehich is our wedding anniversary. it would be pretty cool if it worked out that way wouldn't it?

Kinda weird though when people who are all growed up start asking questions like, "Do you remember when Judas Priest got sued about that suicide?" and when the 50th birthday of your favorite guitarist, who was only 25 when he died, comes and goes.

I once knew a man from Perth
Who had about five dollars worth
Of boys and girls at three for a dollar

The less they were worth, the more they would holler
The more they would holler, the less they were worth

For two cents cash I'd send YOU to Perth!

[I forget who the poet was, but I've always liked that one :)]
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

I think it is great that kids do grow up and give us grandkids. I am excited for pics of grandbabies no matter who is the grandparent.

Congrats!- Youre only as old as you feel.

(and for the record I'm 33, but feel closer to 60 with all the bodily injuries I have sustained)
