In the spirit of fun, here's another gem. It's called "That's My Bush." All episodes from season 1 are here to watch:

I watched that clip again. It's funny because the jokes are actually truisms, but it somehow seems unnatural.
It has to do with the nature of comedy. Comedy at its best is the powerless speaking to the powerful. It is pointing out the absurdity of the system. It is revealing the man behind the curtain. All of these things are progressive in nature. Conservative typically is the power. It is wealth and entitlement. It is all the things humor pokes fun at.
When, someone like, say, Limbaugh tries humor from the conservative angle it typically amounts to joking about another's plight. Haha, he can't fend for himself for reasons beyond his control. It's not that funny.

That seems completely backwards to me. A true conservative (don't read that as "republican", I'm talking about something along the lines of Reagan conservatives) wants to take power from the government and give it back to the people. And I see way more wealth behind the big liberals in power these days (Kerry, Hillary, Kennedy, etc.). If you point to Cheney as wealth, don't forget to remind us that he gives something like 80% of his income to charity.Big Blue Owl wrote: Conservative typically is the power. Not that stirring up class envy helps anyone anyway...
And the entitlement thing... who gave us the welfare state we currently live under? Who has been trying to make everyone in this country think that they're entitled to free health care? I could go on about this one for paragraph after paragraph.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?
