iTunes Shut Down?

Post by awip2062 »

Apple is threatening to shut down iTunes due to improfitability if roylatlies to songwriters and publishers increases by six cents and the labels won't absorb the whole increase. Apple currently pays 65 to 70 cents for each song out of the $.99 they charge. They do not want to raise the price of their songs.

I wonder what that will do for iPhone, iPod and iTouch sales.

Apple found a way to effectively sell music, get it to the consumer in a faster than light way (where else can you buy music at 2am from home and get it at 2:01am?) -and the labels are killing it over greed- plain and simple.
