Wow Xan, those vallhunds are a spitting image, kind of creepy, a little bigger. However still pretty rare dogs, which likely means very pricey. I like the wolflike colouring on them too.

hahahahahaha yeah. :x

hey, I love those ACD "blue heelers" too! Awesome dogs.

Sigette's boss has one - a female.

(Remember the one Mel Gibson had in "The Road Warrior"?) :headbang:

They're mercilessly protective too.

Try to touch the owner of one, and you'll pull back a bloody stump 'fore
ya even know what happened...LOL

I thought you'd like the Vallhund. They make good agility dogs despite the short legs. You might be surprised, a good breeder shouldn't charge you lots more just because its rare, you never know you might find a pet quality one for $400 USD. Dutch Shepherds are rare too, I got mine for free because the breeder didn't have time for him and I used to work for him so he knew I'd be a good home for one. But even when he sells the pups, they're only $400 for pet quality and $800 for working quality (schutzhund). A good breeder is more happy to have found a great home for one of their pups than they have desire to make a buck...some people when they find the perfect home will practically give them to you but not necessarily.

Here is a book I reccomend for raw feeding:
The Ultimate Diet : Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats by Kymythy R. Schultze

My dog eats mostly chicken leg quarters (85% of his diet), ground beef/pork/lamb and beef/lamb/goat bones from the butcher, eggs...misc cooked veggie scraps on occasion. When I first got him he was on kibble and I didn't switch him immediately. He'd go through 35lbs of high quality kibble (Chicken Soup brand) per WEEK, and had horrible smelling soft poop and wasn't very healthy looking. The day I switched him to raw, the digestive stuff was better instantly. Now it costs me about $10-15 dollars a week to feed him rather than $40 per week!!!

Proof the diet works:

He doesn't shed, shiny coat, no dog smell, no ear infections, he's all lean muscle, no digestive problems, make small turds with little smell, teeth stay white and healthy w/ no brushing...etc

His siblings that are fed kibble, shed tons all the time, their coats are dull and smelly, they have skin problems in the summer, their bellys are bloated looking after eating, they have loose stools a lot, they don't have the muscle mass he does, they have less energy and stamina, their teeth are nasty and have to be cleaned and they have constant problems with ear infections. Hmmmm.

So, any help you need w/ the diet seriously, I don't mind if you have questions...the more dogs and owners I can save from kibble problems the better! :-D
