Dang, no wonder he left, he couldn't even afford the rest of a bass playing with you guys :p

All joking aside, sorry to hear that.

On the plus side, fly me out to Utah and I'll do it, however I probably have too much flash for you old fogies :D

Bass players, from my experience are as flaky as singers. I bet this is not the case with yours though Elf. Sorry to hear this.

Heh... his back has been giving him a lot of trouble. When he found that little bass that didn't weigh anything he snatched it right up!

We'd never be able to keep up with you. :-D

When my brother broke the news to me I actually suggested my daughter. I don't think she'd have any trouble learning the material. But my brother pointed out that she really doesn't fit into the midlife crisis thing. And neither do you (count your lucky stars). :D

I think candidates for a replacement are already in the works though. I hope someone is in and learning the material soon. This line up started rehearsing together in 2001. It feels really weird to suddenly not be in a functional band.

Dang? You mean 'Drat' surely? :-)
Seriously, sorry to hear that Elfie, bassists are hard to come by imho.

Which leads me nicely to a private message I've just receievd via facebook from my good friend Salvatore:

"Hi Dar..Just had to tell ya... Im sooo god damn excited..Got a Fender Jazz Bass & a HUGE Marshall Amp Baby...God wish I could play better...Doh!!!Time to make those fingers bleed!! Time to listen & (try) to play along to some Hawkwind & The Stooges I think!!! Give me a call and we'll jam..." :-)

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isnt a Fender Jass one of Geddy's fav's?
So, welcome news on this sunny sunday morning.

Sorry to discuss my positive news here Elfie, especially in the wake of your loss :-)

Sorry to hear that Elf. I hope he gets better and maybe one day return,
but forge ahead Bro.

Somebody out there is looking for people to gig with!

Sorry to hear that! Too bad we arent closer together my hubby is a bassist in a band right now. But the singer really sux & the guitarist cannot do solos or anything. So hubby kind of looking to play elsewhere.

Nah. We're getting nibbles from much better players. I'm excited about the future.

Though I will become the weakest member of the band if we get a great bass player...

Oh well. Someone has to be! :-D

You're too modest, Elf.

We're talking about someone timekeeping with a drummer in the rhythm
section for cryin' out loud...hahahaha

Make him/her sing everything too....

Then you can get your guitar godliness on. :headbang:
