I've been married 30 years, so I'll take a swipe at it.

The one piece of advice I can give is very simple:

GIVE MORE THAN YOU GET.

(And of course that goes for hubby too. That "50/50" stuff is bullhockey.)

It's situations like yours that test a relationship from the onset. You must
to be able to trust each other and compromise.

There's no way around it. If he truly loves you, he'll honor your
wedding wishes. I mean, isn't he supposed to be courting and wooing
you?

Oops, there I go thinking like a Yank again. Maybe it's different in Wales.

Doesn't matter. Just remember this: Give more than you get.

And that goes for both of you. :)

Go to Las Vegas and get an Elvis to marry you two.

Hell, Marn and I eloped to a place in Coeur D Alene Idaho called, "The Hitching Post."

Yeah, no kidding. Our pix rock!!!!

Sigette and I were married in a little country church built in 1812.

I played a joke on the preacher. When I had to pay my tidings, I held on
to the check tight and made him 'rassle it out of my stingy, vise-like
fingers. lol

remember this too.. it's not important how or where you get married.. The important part is what you do with it for the rest of your lives... I will say to DA though, a wedding is probably the biggest day of a woman's life. so that day should be all about her.. us guys are just along for the ride.. maybe you could get married in the UK and than on your first anniversary, renew your vows in the US... just a thought.. :-)
Happy 2015!
