I am surprised this album isn't in the forum's listings. I also think we need a bit more Rush discussion. Okay, okay, I thnk we just plain ole need more posting! LOL To that end...what is your favorite song on this album?
Right now I am stuck on Different Strings. Once again Neil's lyrics hit me. The truth in them, the poetry, the way he weaves philosophy with a nostalgic view. The music had layers, each one can hold my interest. Listen to the very simple yet moving bass during the outro or the guitar during...well you are all Rushians, you understand
I don't know that it is my favorite off the album; this album has some great tunes! Still, this is the one that has my heart strings right now. _________________ Onward and Upward! |

I would say Natural Science, but I like the live version on Different Stages better..
so with that I vote Jacob's Ladder. _________________ Happy 2015! |

I have to go with "The Spirit of Radio" because I play it on guitar myself,
and brothers/sisters - it's a WORKOUT. My hat's off to you Lerxt, as
always. _________________ Don't start none...won't be none. |

Wow... I pretty much agree.
But it's SO hard to pick a favorite from that album. There's not a bum track on there. _________________ Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Choosing a favorite Rush anything is SO hard!
So far three votes for Jacob's Ladder! I guess mine goes to Different Strings, and one for The Spirit of Radio. Any others care to chime in? _________________ Onward and Upward! |

My sister would choose Entre Nous.
My daughter would choose Spirit of Radio. That one makes her happy. _________________ Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Sometimes in the morning, though, it can be a bit too perky if one has not had her coffee! _________________ Onward and Upward! |

mmmm....to me, TSoR is arpeggio-rich, note-for-note goodness.
"La Villa" (I know it's off-topic) makes me stomp on the gas pedal...wonder why?
