For those who attended thia tour and others, do you think this was better than others, about the same, worse?
Recently Dove told me she liked this concert the least of the Rush shows she has seen. _________________ Onward and Upward! |

LOL good catch, Bro!
Snakes. That was the one Dove thought was not as good as others. _________________ Onward and Upward! |

I wonder if her reasons were like my brothers.
John didn't like the second half with all the S&A songs back to back. He liked the songs, but not having any familiarity to them, he lost interest. _________________ This space for rent |

I didn't see the S & A tour. The reason is that, after hearing the album a couple times, I just wasn't interested (sacrilege to say, I know). Compared to their older stuff, it seemed pretty limp to me.
I prefer the old RUSH that rocks more than the modern Rush that seems to be a bit overboard with their self idolizing attempts at cool.

I'm with you there Zep. I'm old-school too. They were just so much
grittier and rough-around-the-edges then. Now they're the epitome of
perfection. As a result it takes the "down the tubes" aspect out of their
music.
I loved CARESS OF STEEL. That was some GRITTY, RASPY guitar work. _________________ Don't start none...won't be none. |

Dan, I doubt any of the regulars here will hate you for such an opinin. All love Rush but don't see the men as perfekt or think, like Zakk Wylde does of Sbbath, that the boys could just fart on an album and it would be killer. LOL
I asked Dovie and she said it was because there were so many new songs and she "kinda didn't like the style" of the songs. "They were kinda weird." _________________ Onward and Upward! |

I liked the Snakes and Arrows tour. Missed Time Machine. I thought the material from the SnA album came off a lot better live than on the album. A lot of Rush Music is like that I think.
And they didn't play the whiniest of the tracks live, thank goodness. But they played all three of the instrumentals! Woot!
The SnA tour DVD is phenomenal. Maybe their best captured performance IMO.
But I still like the Rush in Rio DVD better. That audience just makes it so exciting, y'know? _________________ Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Loved it in "La Villa" when Alex finishes the smooth solo, hits the switch
for the bridge pickup, turns the volume pot up, bends that B string to the
limit and UNLEASHES IT. Throw in some awsesome facial expressions
and you have a MONSTER on your hands. _________________ Don't start none...won't be none. |

Yeah, I don't think they have a better live DVD than Rio. _________________ This space for rent |

I liked the Snakes and Arrows tour better than Time MAchine or R30, Time Machine is #2 in what I have seen, it was nice to see a lot of 'forgotten' gems played live. I for one enjoyed that they played so much of the new stuff. |

To see/hear Camera Eye and Vital Signs live was the highlight of the night for me. _________________ This space for rent |
