Ex-drummer jailed for sex attacks

The former drummer of rock band Judas Priest has been jailed for eight years for the attempted rape and indecent assault of a special needs youngster.
David Holland, who played with the band in the 1970s and 1980s, was convicted of the charges last month.

Holland, 55, of Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on Friday.

He was convicted of attempted rape and five indecent assault charges.

At Holland's trial, the jury heard the sex attacks on the 17-year-old took place at the drummer's rural home between June and December 2002.

Sentencing Holland, Judge Charles Wide QC said the teenager was a boy with a very troubled past.

"You planned this abuse by grooming his parents and him through the careful construction of the opportunity to abuse and the common factors of detaching a boy from his parents by giving him cigarettes, alcohol and porn."

Judge Wide added: "You must never work with children again."

This whole situation is terrible!

I am sorry to have this associated with Judas Priest, but am thankful that he is their EX drummer!

As one fan said while crying at the meet and greet on the Rush in Rio DVD " They teach us so much and show us how to live  "

Rape is so brutal and animalistic, it probably takes a sicker person to do that than to murder someone :? It's a damn terrible thing to do to someone, why can't all people act like people?
I remember watching in amazement as Geddy sang, played bass, and played the keyboards with his feet. I thought, "Who is this guy???"

You mean an American can win one of those? (Carter was the last to do so, right?)
