Keane

Post by Ogg »

Having fought it against it for a while I have to concede defeat and offer a tip of the hat to new english band 'Keane' http://www.keanemusic.com/ and their debut 'hopes and fears'. Eldest daughter prompted the initial download but then went out and bought it (no higher praise in our house). Keane are a trio consisting of drums piano and lush vocals, by no means a power trio but the beauty lies in the songs themselves paticualry the third single 'bed-shaped'. I defy anyone not to be moved by it. If you have any form of p2p then download it...then buy it.

Many's the time I ran with you down
The rainy roads of our old town
Many the lives we lived in each day
And buried altogether
Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped
And legs of stone
You'll knock on my door
And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

I know you think I'm holding you down
And I've fallen by the wayside now
And I don't understand the same things as you
But I do

Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped
And legs of stone
You'll knock on my door
And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

They should get Keanu to play bass for them, I think it would really thicken the sound up.

Maybe Life is stating t5he obvious that keanu Reeves is not the most intelligent person around (I mean, Ted was an intellectual leap for him)

Yes I am aware of the above, isnt his band 'Dog Star' or something like that?
I thought you were attempting a poor 'pun' (a play on words) on 'Keane' by offering 'Keanu' as bassist...

Anyway, cynicsm aside can one of you at least listen to the the song mentioned in the initial thread? The keyboard break is sooo 'Marillion' .
