Will they tour again in 2005?

Post by dw_drummer93 »

I've only seen 'em once this past May of '04 in Nashville. Will they do it again this year? What do you guys think?

I think a 2005 tour is unlikely. From what I've heard (and these are just rumours) they're going to be enering the studio towards the end of the year to record a new album. Therefore, the tour, if any, will probably be 2006

Well, this isn't exactly a "tour" but a friend e-mailed me this morning and it seems Rush (among other Canadian groups like Tragically Hip and Celine) is performing for a telethon on the CBC to benefit victims of the tsunami!!!

How cool is THAT!!! I hope the Canadian By-toreans can catch it!!! 8) :D

Well, the announcement is now up on Rush.com so it's official. Didn't they have some "streaming" of the SARS concert there? Perhaps they can stream this too?

I know Andrew MacNaughtan videotaped part of SARS so maybe that is how they got to do it. Either way, I'll ADD to your

AMEN!!

Question everyone, as I've been away for awhile...crazy holiday season. Are they releasing any kind of DVD from the 30th anniv. tour? Rio was incredible and I thought they would certainly capitalize on the success of this very special tour as well. Not to mention the songs brought on board just for this. Yes I'm the only Mystic Rhythms fan, and proud of it!

I thought I would ask the experts first. :-D Anywho, happy '05 all and here's hopin for an album later this year.

Being a drummer, it has some really cool stuff in it. Most definately a fun one to (try) to play.

Yeah I remember learning that one. Took me a few nights to get my hands and feet to do what they should. That chorus is hard! The Chronicles DVD shows a lot, but not enough. Don't know how he keeps the hi-hat from sound funny during the movement from the open-close pattern to the "click" pedal. I could swear he does the final 16th notes on that when his foot is off of it.....where's that loud annoying open hi-hat sound? LOL Need to get a couple china boys too.

I did get the priviledge of jamming on my local drum store's Roland setup, which has so many programs it isn't funny. It's great to know that I can have one as soon as I hit the lotto!

Thanks for the tip WHB.

Gosh I sure hope they tour again, but I was thinking it wouldn't be till 2006. We have to give them time off and then let them record another album, right?? :-D
