I don't have to worry about that, because Neil and I are on a first name basis. ;)

42:How is "Peart" pronounced?

It rhymes with "near," according to Neil on the "Rush - Profiled!" CD, so I assume that's the correct pronunciation. I don't remember the exact wording off the top of my head, but the "Profiled!" CD contains a recording of Neil saying "Hi, this is Neil Peart of Rush." That also agrees with the way Geddy pronounced "Peart" when introducing Neil's solo during RTB shows. The "t" at the end is not silent.

It says it rhymes with Near. Near rhymes with Peer. Peer is what you will say, except with a t afterwards : Peer-t. Like Pert, but Peart!
I remember watching in amazement as Geddy sang, played bass, and played the keyboards with his feet. I thought, "Who is this guy???"

Another mystery solved.

By the way, I know my name and my tag are different... but Consider this a compromise between the 2.

In spelling class when we ged to the word "ear" we use this sentence as our example:

I hear with my ear Neil Peart.

That way my kids can be good little Rushians and call him Mr. Nuttall when they see him on the street. *wink*
