Test for Echo tour, 1997, The Gorge at George, WA.
*Taken from liner notes on RiR*
-"...And the largest audience we had ever played to as a headliner had been 20,000, at The Gorge in Washington state, on our Test for Echo tour, in early 1997."
So cool to be included in the liner notes. But I wish Neil would have included the part about seeing a walkinghairball in the crowd. That would have been so wicked. Hey I can dream can't I? _________________ This space for rent |

Last Saturday when I was at the Gorge at George, The Newsboys recorded their show to make a DVD to go along with their next CD that comes out. Not nearly as cool as Rush though. Not even close. The only reason I was even watching their show was because they were headlining the four day festival and I love the act that came right before them. _________________ Onward and Upward! |

Wow Grandpa! You've done your time in the arenas too I see!
I can't remember many opening acts, but here's a few:
1. Starz
2. Shooting Star
3. Saxon
4. Mothers Finest
For Vapor Trails at Nissan Paviliion in DC, they had no opening act...And rightly so! hahaha

I remember that Golden Earring opened for them when I saw them during the Moving Pictures tour. Little did I know then how I would come to love the Dutch people. _________________ Onward and Upward! |

Golden Earring was cool....I remember when "Radar Love' came out....It was the ONLY English they knew....Reminds me of the Scorpions first album....It was dark and barely discernable...But, it grew on you and I became a rabid Scorpions fan too....I'd go see them today if they were playing...And the GIRLS.....OMG.....I'd swear 75% of the crowd at a Scorpions show was female, and that was like a show-within-a-show...
Ahhh...those were the days....Hey....HOW 'BOUT THEM COLTS!!! hahaha
(had to throw THAT one in there...) Rock On,

Now Geddy goes over to Holland and says a few things in Dutch. I doubt he could speak more than just a few phrases though. But, I understand (from a native speaker) that he did all right with what he did say.
Ah, Scorpions! Yes, I remember going to see them back in '83. What you boys need to remember is that when we girls went to see them, WE got a double show. We got the tunes and we got looking at Rudy and Francis. Oh man, when Francis would wear those Levi's with the rips in them... _________________ Onward and Upward! |
