Tony Dungy's son found dead

Post by Middle Kingdom »

Apparent suicide.

Unbelievable! :(

LUTZ, Fl. -- Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy's 18-year-old son was found dead in an apartment Thursday morning.

Police said they received a call from the apartment of James Dungy, 18.

Police are investigating, but said Dungy's death was likely a suicide.

Tony Dungy has left the team to return to Tampa.

Pray for the Dungy family with me....May they all be strong, and may the Colts carry on as long as they have to without their coach....

Peace on Earth,

He handled everything very well, publicly.
You can tell he deals with the media on a daily basis,
but still his composure was amazing.

True dat....As well as the TEAM too....They handled it well too, although you could see their pain over not having their coach there with them....I was surprised at TB...What a classy city to still embrace Tony....that just RULES...

AOL news had the transcript of the 911 call.
Seems he hung himself with a belt from a ceiling fan.
Sad.

that is sad, but it makes me angry that the kid was so selfish....that he didn't think about the ones left behind to grieve and suffer for the rest of THEIR lives...I just hope it wasn't over a GIRL....geez

okay...I vented....

there's just not a good-enough reason to take ones' own life...no matter WHAT...yaknow? My folks told me a long time ago: No matter HOW bad you think YOU have it, there's ALWAYS someone who has it WORSE OFF THAN YOU...

I agree.

There was depression though, so he was ill,
and not thinking straight I would believe.

My brother's friend committed suicide. It was AWFUL!!! Just AWFUL!!! This young man in pain doing such a thing. My brother was the last person he spoke to...he asked for a cigarette and left a party they were at. He later drove over a wooden bridge over a creek and parked there put some kind of tube from his exhaust into the driver's section of the car.

I remember my brother at hearing the news the next morning (he was still in High School and at home) and I heard him shrieking and pounding his bed screaming, "WHY??? WHY??? YOU ASSHOLE!!! You LEFT me! YOU LIED TO ME!!! WHY??? YOU ASSHOLE!!!"

I was really freaked at my brother's emotions at this 'cause he is a gentle guy and I realized what PAIN this guy caused by his (I thought) selfish actions. His family was devastated.

There are those who have almost NO hope (i.e. Tsunami, Katrina) and they persevere. There is ALWAYS a way out. Taking one's own life is a selfish act and those that are in danger of doing so need a wake-up call to see the world doesn't revolve around them and their misery. We're ALL a part of the big picture.

Rant over...I had more to say but I'll cut it now...
