Anybody into Clutch?

A local band (from our friends in MD), who REEK of Rush in their lyrics!

Check out the "Burning Beard" video on YAHOO!

"Beard" is a turnaround of what they usually play...Although it has a theme, like-it-or-not, that's the way they are....you either like them or you don't...you know....like the Chili Peppers...

Other that that, you can see they listened to LOTS of Rush on the previous album, "Pure Rock Fury"....On THAT album, the required listening is: "Careful with that Mike", a funky, metal-esque rap that has lyrics outta this world(hence my intuition of their appreciation for Rush)...It was on the AOR stations here in DC for quite a while..

No video for that one, but I wish there were...

As an angry little sixteen year old who hated everything on earth (and parts of Mars), Escape to the Prison Planet was one of my favorite songs. I still have a poster I picked up from that tour!

I heard wonderdul things about Blast Tyrant, but never bothered to pick it up. I really should get back into this band. They were an excellent nu metal outfit in the '90s, way back before nu metal was the big trend. I always liked them better than Korn or the Deftones, and thought they deserved to make it big.

I think they enjoy where they're at now....every time they come back home to play local, they're wide-ass open...they have a good time like the fans, and we hang out and bullshit and catch up...good bunch of guys...
