I still think Alex should have whooped Justins ass for causing all the grief in the first place.

That is a big "no shit" In my opinion the cops were doing their job and Justin needs his ass kicked for being an idiot. His wife too. I mean what business did they have drunk and on the stage, specially at a black tie event? I love Rush but I think this is a frivolus lawsuit and they need to move on.

Sorry, but unless they show documents saying the tour was
scheduled to start earlier than it did, and it was delayed due to
Alex's injuries, they have no case.

The lawyers would have to prove this cost them money.

Sales wise, the album release may have been delayed, but that doesn't mean they 'lost' those sales......they got them at a later calendar date than expected.

It will be very hard to prove income was lost,
when the defense can just say they received the income
later on.

I agree with the judge on this one.

BTW,

I think that Neil and Ged were just trying to stand
behind Alex and this suit was done as a kind of retaliation -
and I would bet it was done at the urging of council
more than by the guys.

but who knows.....
just my .16?

you are probably right, In my heart I want to think that the fellas did not want to pursue legal action, but some sleezy lawyer told them to do it. That is what I tell myself anyway. :?

I bet they asked if there was anything that could be done.
Then, as you say, lawyers took it and ran.
I tell myself that too.
These 3 guys don't seem like money grubbers,
though I've never met them.
