Any fellow Signals fans?
I LOVE SUBDIVISIONS!!!!!! Seriously I fucking love the hell out of that song...everything about it...its kind of dark and analytical yet it holds emotion.
I've allways loved it and never ged tired of it and its great on any substance of choice or sober...best on LSD tho
Then there is Analog Kid...so full of energy and excitement...love it.
Chemestry...great stoner song...music in the abstract...aye
Digital Man...another really cool song...
The Weapon...interesting lyricly and I really like the sound.
New Word Man...my least fav not that I don't like it...just like tho others better.
Loosing It...Ged's voice is really nice in that one.
Countdown...that song is full of adrenaline...beware of listening to it on acid (scarey)...or while driving...makes me drive too fast

We're all mad here!
Subdivisions is a great song! I totally love it!
Let's face it, Neil's lyrics in these songs are freaking awesome!
The way he looks at the human condition and puts it in words. I mean, for example, I listen to Losing It, and I know those people, having been around the elderly so much.
Signals? Definitetly a need to own LP!

Signals is definitely a must have for any Rush collection. I don't listen to it nearly often enough and when I do pop it in the player, I can't help but wonder why?? Analog Kid and The Weapon are my two personal favorites on this one.
I don't have faith in faith, I don't believe in belief, You can call me faithless, I still cling to hope, And I believe in love, And that's faith enough for me... Neil Peart

Aiii, one of my favorite lines from that album:
"He's a digital...man"
Vocally, I think Signals is one of Geddy's finest albums.... His performance on "Analog Kid" is really fantastic. Yea...Signals just might be my favorite studio album...although PWaves, Counterparts, T4E, and VT give it a run for the proverbial money.

I'm going to have to put my hand upand say I'm not a big fan of Signals. Admittedly, there are some great songs there but they are almost lost by a very muddy production with Alex's guitar so lost in the mix that he may as well have stayed at home. Listen to songs on Show of hands and Different Stages - then they really do rock.

I think I would have to name my favourite's as being Roll the Bones, Counterparts, Moving Pictures, A Farewell to Kings, Hold Your Fire and Different Stages.
When I say that I'm not a particular fan of certain albums, I don't mean that they are bad albums - I don't think that Rush have actually released a bad album. Its just that these albums, for some reason, don't seem to be on a par with the others.
Usually, its down to one of two reasons:
The production is lacking somewhat or the album doesn't seem to flow for some reason - it may even be that, subconsiously, the running order may be wrong.
I will, however, say that two things have never been at fault: the songs and the playing. They've always been of a very high standard (except perhaps for Rush but they were young and didn't have the Professor to hold things together.)

i see, i understand now, i've enver noticed these problems, i've realized some patterns from album to album while jamming along on my bass, they don't usually place bass of high intensity close together break it up slightly, makes jamming along easier. As for Rush, working man is some of the most amazing bass and gutiar they have, its one of the few songs that afterward my wrist burns from playing once the second solo hits take off and fly, very great fun
