You never know, Minnesota is ripe for an upset... Houston almost got them last week... I heard on ESPN that Haslett is on the hot seat, so maybe that will inspire them. I can't figure the Saints, they have a whole lot of talent, but yet they struggle.

Haslett i think doesn't pick the best players for starters. i mean, Delhomme was under him for a while and only started once or twice. i mean, he took Carolina to the Superbowl last year..maybe Haslett should re-examine his first & second strings.

Don't make me beat you with the clue bat. :-D

Delhomme didn't take the Panthers to the dance last season. Their defense and a 1-15 schedule took them to the bowl. I like Jake, I really do, and I don't like Brooks, but there is no coach in this league that would start him over Brooks. Jake's a Louisiana boy, and I wish him well, but his name won't be mentioned too often when people talk about great QB's from Louisiana. And with going to the bowl last year, the Panthers are doing exactaly what I said they would be. They've got a good base, a strong defense to build on, but it will be two or three more years before they're a serious contender, and as much as I'd like to see Jake suceede, I don't think the team will find that success with him at the helm. He's a good QB, but he's just not starter material.

As for Haslett, his problem isn't really with who he's starting, his problem is that he doesn't run the team. If he's going to bring the Saints (or any other team for that matter) to the promis land, he's going to need to find the balls he used to have as a player.

most people don't see him that way either, but hey, he needed a chance. the thing with the Panthers wasn't that Delhomme was the best qb in the business, it was that he was the missing piece of the puzzle. they had quite a bit of talent they never knew existed & Jake helped Steve Smith especially reach his potential. the team really has faith in him & i really think they really loved having him in control last year. last yr we got lucky, relatively injury-free season. we had Stephen Davis, Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad (who's not doing that well THIS season), and like you said, we had the #7 defense in the league. that's awesome, but we're certainly paying the price this season. sucks for us. *sigh*

well, honestly, you know a lot more about the Saints than i do, so i'll take your word for it. :-D who am i to argue with the king of football? :P
