No vote here either...How'd THEY get there? I'll tell you how...

People dug the "Axl-Rose-Heroin-Dance", and decided that was "too metal for us to handle"...hahaha

In regards to Zep v Halen...dont be silly :-) even my ten month old grandson could give you that answer :-D , daft question imho.

I think you're all missing the point with GnR to be honest. Surely most of us 'mature' rockers here remember the GnR thang? To think the likes of Poison, Ratt, Cinderella even the dodgy 'Crue dominated american radio then Guns arrived and ate them all up. AFDestruction was a ferocious album (I can think of no better adjective) upon release, so much venom, so much sleaze, I used to go crazy to WTTJungle. They were and still remain the only band of that genre that I once liked. Of course they imploded like a gaggle of twats but what can you do? For sheer impact they merit inclusion in the annals of Rockdom! Wish I had an appropriate smiley here.

G n'R were the right-band-at-the-right-time...They shook up the rock universe, and set us down to albums full of angst and rebellion, excess and decadence...but metal? I think not...hard rock MAYBE...

Along those lines, why wasn't LZ included in the "top 40" (and I use the term loosely) for "Communication Breakdown" among other tunes? It's fast, it's hard and it made me stop listening to pop top 40 CRAP...to this day :-D

Ogg, I got to stick to it. This is a list of the best metal, and I CANNOT in good conscience cheer their inclusion ABOVE the likes of real metal bands, real metal songs such as we have in Priest, Maiden, Dio, et cetera. To say that they have a song that is better than the entire cataloges of the ones who gave us metal?

you gotta consider, this came from VEE H ONE....I mean, how metal is THAT??? huh? what?

now, if the list were submitted from KERRANG, or "Headbangers' Ball", THAT would be gospel...

And if they put a GNR song in the #2 postion, Vic Rattlehead, Eddie, Murray, and all their friends would come to life and EAT the men who made the list.

*wink*

L Z hands down while V H is still OK. Saw Robert Plant last year, not what I expected but stiil good show. Glad to see him doing what he likes most out of life and hope he keeps it up so his girl friend said at the picnic.
When evil is allowed to compete with good, evil has an emotional populist appeal that wins out unless good men & women stand as a vanguard against abuse.
