congrats schu! I saw some cool stuff about Scotland over the weekend...mostly war-related stuff, but it was good TV just the same...

I was in Holy Loch when I was in the Navy....good people there...I'd go back in a heartbeat...cheers you lots!

USS Fort Snelling....what is the port city there, where the British fleet was based in WW1? Can't remember the name, but there's a lot of history there...

Atlantic 04/03/78: The USS Fort Snelling (LSD-30) and the USS
Waccamaw (T-AO-109) receive structural damage in a collision
north of Corsica, France, when the Waccamaw loses steering
control during refueling. Both proceed under their own power to
Naples,Italy, for repairs.

I've also been looking at this site... http://holyloch.com/

Luckily schuette isn't in Holy Loch, or I wouldn't have enjoyed my visits there.

USS Ortolan (ASR-22)

I was on the USS Sellers (DDG-11) prior to the Ortolan, but we never went to Scotland...spend alot of time in the Med though.
Don't tell me about rock and roll I'm out there in the clubs and on the streets and I'm living it! I am rock and roll!

schu did her homework! cool...yep, that was a nighmare....stuck in Naples for months....what a drag...

Holy Loch was SO cool though....they love Yanks there....or they DID...hahaha

One of the best places I ever visited...The Scots made fun of us though....we were cheap entertainment, as they would drink us under the table, but made sure we got back safe...Great bunch of guys...God Bless 'em

By-tor, I never got on a tincan, but I imagine it was rock and roll all the way on one of those...I WAS on a minesweeper TAD though (USS Inflict), and THAT was a rocker for sure...
