Hey Schu! good evenin'!

I was lucky enough to see them in a theater in '77...all of us kids skipped school, got tight, and watched them perform tunes from RUSH, all the way and including "NEW" tunes from "Farewell"....good times...good times :-D

the absolute COOLEST part of the whole deal was, they were SO good...we all KNEW they didn't belong in a theater, and soon after that they took off...Almost makes ya feel like part of their history...

I saw them first in '79 but it was the Hemispheres tour so they had become quite "large" by then. :-D Back then they used to play the ENTIRE epics. What memories. 8)

cool Kares! yeah, back in the theater, they didn't have the elaborate light/laser show....just a light rack over the stage and spotlights in the crowd fixed on Lerxt and By-tor.....bare-bones-kick-butt showmanship..

It's hard to believe that they almost folded after "Caress"....that was a shock...

Yessir..I put that platter right up there with Floyd's DSOTM as classic, MUST-HAVE-IN-THE-COLLECTION-OR-YOU'RE-LIVING-UNDER-A-ROCK albums.. :-D

Oh MAN! I TOTALLY agree! :-D

BTW, DSOTM is a VERY special album for me personally as well but I can't say why here. ;)

ME EITHER!!! *laffs*

have you heard the urban legend that DSOTM is (musically) timed perfectly with the Wizard of Oz movie scenes?

it's claimed to be, but I haven't tried to de-bunk it personally...

Yes, but I think that was made up by someone who had too much time on their hands.

The same rumor is about 2112 and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory. You have to line it up in some weird way but the "chocolate waterfall" scene happens at the same time of Discovery in 2112.

Rush laughs at it.

I wonder if people are still looking for Rush vinyl? my early Rush is all vinyl...back then, we all had to wait outside of the record stores the first day they went on sale..just like waiting for concert tickets...

back in '80, they did that tune with Max Webster ("feel the way I feel"?)that got heavy airplay here, so I went out and got the Max Webster "Universal Juveniles" vinyl too...haven't heard a PEEP outta Max Webster since then...
