Well, I went to the opening night of the world tour last night in Hartford. Let's just say I had a good time. It could have been better though. For some reason they decided to play the new CD in its entirety, start to finnish. That was kind of cool, but they didn't leave much time to play any of their older songs. They only played six or seven old ones.

The stage was set up as a kind of bunker and the lighting was cool. Bruce Dickinson still has a great voice and he sounded good. His mic cut out a few times but other than that there weren't any big technical problems.

The rest of the band played really well, and Nicko never missed a beat.

I still feel a little cheated, I really wanted them to play Run to the Hills, but it didn't make the cut.

I....I....I....I just can't believe that.

Oh, I wonder if this is a foreboding of the Judas Priest tour and how it will be? They have said they want to play the whole new concept album and change up a bit from what they have been doing live.

Ah, well, such is life, eh?

In any case, I am happy you got to go, JJ and I hope the boy had a blast there as well. Was this his first IM gig?

Yep, I took my wife and my son. He's seen Rush twice, but no one else. This was the first IM concert for all three of us. They were just as disappointed as I was at them for not playing more older songs. We just haven't had enough time to really learn the new disc.

I might try and go see Judas Priest if the stop by here. I've never seen them live.

I'm kinda concerned about the new Priest album. Some of the stuff Rob has said about it makes me wonder if I will like it. But will I go again? Will I take my son again? Whoo-ya, I surely will! \m/

I've never seen Maiden live, but JP was my first concert back during the Screaming For Vengence tour.

I was in Section 500 Row GG. That is in the middle of the theater one section to the right. They were pretty good seats, but I would have liked to be a little more centered.

Tickets for this show went on sale at 10:00 am. I logged in at 10:10 (I know, my mistake) and I ended up with the middle. That kind of shocked me! I was expecting to get the lower section especially after only 10 minutes. Oh well, I need to log in right away next time, lesson learned.

The new CD is awesome, but I also think it was rather foolish to play the whole damned thing, start to finish.

Of course, I know I'll get to hear a lot of obscure old tunes, when they put out the next volume in the "Early Days" series.
