Geeeeeez, I don't know where to go on this subject. On the one hand, I don't want anyone to take any of my rights or possessions away for the "greater good." On the other hand, so many other places in the world don't have the kind of murder problem we do and guns just happen to be banned (or kept on a tight leash) there. I realize we come from cowboy stock, but we kinda-sorta should'a evolved beyond that by now, no?

It's an issue with no easy answers, frustration on both sides, and usually sad outcomes.
BBO, you have a point about if he'd been carrying a concealed banana.

However, I am concerned that if we get rid of legal gun ownership, then people like the woman who killed the shooter would not be able to defend innocents. In this case, she was a security guard, but what if there had been an armed citizen in the parking lot where the man had been shooting before he entered the building? Might the two sisters yet be alive?

We don't know the answer, of course. *shrugs*

No easy answers, but, much frustration, and too often, anger with this issue.

We have more murders because we have a larger population. When guns are banned, crime rates go UP.

Oh and I'd like to add, I have shot and killed a lot of those paper people :-D

Two questions:

1. How does a 19-year-old get his hands on a AK-47, and:

2. WTF does a 19-year-old have happen to make him homicidal
and suicidal?

At any rate, ban all the guns you want. Good luck taking MINE.

You can pry 'em from my cold dead fingers.

I'm gonna need 'em if'n any more illegal aliens decide to case my house
again. Caught 'em once. Next time it's for keeps. Lock and load.

But, Siggs, it's fun to tie cans in a tree with string and set them swingin' before you start shooting!
