Nice place ya got here! Many names I'm familiar with some not!

Attention Mr. Spud Head: Who elected you 'INSTRUCTOR"? :P

Oh, yeah, and you can count me as a Banee of the 'OFFICIAL' sites also. No reason given, no board rules broken....probably because I also belong to another 'non OFFICIAL' RUSH site.....which a certain admin (who shall remain brain-less) doesn't like. Hee hee hee!

We are here together, having a blast every day, yes? Most of us MET here. How many hours do some of us spend with our By-torian friends, only to think about them when we or they are not here? How weird is it to feel closer to people you've never met in the flesh, than to some of your own local friends and family?
My point is, that this is real magic. The stuff our parents could never have imagined in their earlier days. They didn't even conjure up this scenario in any sci-fi show back in the day (ok, someone will certainly post an example of how wrong I am there  ). I would like to warmly and sincerely thank our friend and commander By-tor for all of this. He and his Uber-mods create and maintain a place for us to come talk about Rush. A place to play with our mates and build relationships. Our own pizza place for Cliff's sake!
Thanks, man. If you ever need anything, we got your back

No problem! It's the least I can do. Perhaps we can even treat him to a dogshit souffle

No doubt about it By-Tor is a visionary advancing our minds to another degree.

Thanks, Dude!

Most people, because they are themselves formless, because they are unable to give form to themselves and their nature, endeavor to strip objects of their form, so as to leave nothing but loose and disjointed matter such as they themeselves represent. They reduce everything in the end to the so-called effect. To them everything is relative; and so everything becomes relative except nonsense and trite commonplaces, which hold absolute sway.
(Wilhelm Meisters Apprenticeship V111,7 (1796)

Now were is that yard I need to take a dump!

And were do we send the donations?

Zivo's words have caused me to ponder. Did anyone predict "the information age"? I remember hearing that phrase used when connecting computers over distances was getting started, but I didn't have a clue what it meant. Heck, I'm still just getting a grip on it today.

I'm not sure I'd define it as magic, but I would call it a miracle. Of course, in many cases, people use those terms interchageably.

As with all technological advancements, the Internet has ended up being used both for good and for evil. From 1996 on, my ex has spent anywhere from 12 to 18 hours each day sitting in chatrooms. Eventually that lead to her doing other things that no marriage could survive. Even before those things were going on, my kids and I had a difficult time having a relationship with the back of someone's head, especially when that someone got angry every time we disturbed her typing.

On the flip side, we have never had such vast amounts of knowledge available to us. I think to see the last greatest advancement in that genre we have to go all the way back to the creation of public libraries. Pretty much any question we have can be answered within a few keystrokes. News is available in so many areas of the world where previously the only news you were given was government progaganda.

I've heard that the third greatest use of the Interent (right after news and porn... there's the old good and evil example showing itself again) is people finding their roots, doing their genealogy. I believe this is a bible prophecy being fulfilled. (Malachi 4: 5-6).

And of course, as Zivo points out, we find friends here. :)

Thanks for your contribution, By-Tor.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

I suppose that the circumstances leading up to this point in my life is what makes me, me. To be gentle requires no effort on my part, as any hardness and sterness are only put on in self-defense. And I got alot to learn about that! I'm learning thru you all and only can thank you and hope you forgive me for me being me. I don't want to go into the circumstances surrounding my up bringing only to say it hasn't been easy and then again nothing is, at least in my point of view, which sometimes can be harsh. I will say that I've experienced some thing that I doubt any of you ever have! Something so profound that sometimes I think how could it possibly be? I figure that I'm cursed forever and a day. Not that I'm not happy, just something out of this world and it's the holy truth.
