The Sound of Silence

Werner von Trapp, the man who was portrayed as Kurt in the musical The Sound of Music, died Thursday at the ripe old age of 91. Four of the von Trapp siblings survive him.

In sympathy and as a memorial to Werner von Trapp.

Delonix regia "flava" , common name: Royal Poinciana "Smathers Gold"
In the Fabaceae/Leguminosae (bean) family.
It displays "nyctinastic" behavior in that the leaves fold closed at night as if they were sleeping. Like a "prayer plant."

A most excellent choice, then. I thought it might be Austrian, considering it was to honor Mr. von Trapp. Although not Austiran, it still honors him well.

Yeah, it is, but yet there is a bright side. He did make it to 91, an age he wouldn't have made it to see if Hitler'd had his way, though.

Not a musicals kind of guy. I'm sure I saw it as a kid, (Mom liked that kind of stuff), so I'm sure I prolly did see it once or thirty times. I have blocked that pain from memory. :-)

Yeah, they are long-lived and that is cool!

My guess is lifestyle and faith has much to do with how long they are living.
