I read about this. It was a random robbery, during which their Chinese guide was also injured. The attacker jump to his death at the time of the attack.

It is believed to have nothing to do with nationality, just a desperate thug looking for a quick buck.

I watched the 400m U.S. Men swim from behind to win the gold before I
went to bed Sunday night.

That was SO friggin' awesome. The French had 'em beat the whole race.

The U.S. anchor swimmer (Lazar?) was behind until the last 25 meters,
then he turned it on, caught up and won by a FINGERTIP.

The French anchor swimmer was such a baby. He just stood in the water
feeling sorry for himself, even though the French talked trash that they
would crush the Americans in that event.

On the plus side, the world record was smashed - even by the FRENCH
swimmer in a losing effort!

How silly is that?

Amazing, and a race for the Olympic history books.
Don't start none...won't be none.

We (Americans) traditionally perform better in the Summer games
anyway. It's all good.

And that boys and girls, is the reason I stick to the swimming and beach volleyball- there are hard and fast RULES with no judgements or politics clouding the proceedings....

Here are the medal standings as of today.

And that one in Womens Gymnastics won by the North Korean on the Vault was bullshit. Even Bella was pissed off and crying over his disgust of the judges.

MEXICO DROPS OUT OF 2008 SUMMER OLYMPICS

President Felipe Calderon of Mexico has announced that Mexico will
not participate in the remaining Beijing Summer Olympics.

He stated, "Casi cada uno que puede funcionar, saltar, O la nadada
ha salido ya del pais."

Translation: "Pretty much everyone who can run, jump, or swim has
already left the country."
