One more guy they really want to silence...
VOICE: The Glenn Beck Program presents more truth behind America's march to socialism.

GLENN: Stu, I don't even know -- I mean, we should rest for a while. Newsweek magazine is claiming that we're all socialists now.

STU: We all love it all of a sudden.

GLENN: I mean, we should -- I mean, can we stop the boots, should we stop the boots?

STU: No. I mean, I guess we are -- you are saying we've already reached our destination of socialism. So why are we still marching?

GLENN: Of socialism, yes, we're still marching.

STU: The situation, socialists, there's a lot of busy work. You know, you are digging holes and then filling them back up all the time. So this is essentially what we're doing. We're just marching for no reason.

GLENN: Do you remember when $700 billion was a lot of money? Do you remember, it seems just like October where we all freaked out over $700 billion? Then do you remember when $700 billion was approved to spend on TARP? Do you remember when it was immediately approved -- it's not Andy Rooney. You know what it is? It's like those Country Time -- let's have a Country Time lemonade commercial.

STU: We were just talking about that.

GLENN: Can you do that?

STU: Absolutely.

GLENN: Do you remember when $700 billion was a lot of money? It was approved and then do you remember when we spent it on something entirely different? Do you remember how angry that made you? Well, apparently the makers of Country Time lemonade and Barack Obama remember that time, too. Barack Obama wants another $820 billion of your money. What to do, what to do. Tim "TurboTax" Geithner was scheduled today to announce how he planned to spend the other half of that original $700 billion. Remember how pissed you are about that?

He was going to announce how he's going to spend the other half because he's not locked into spending it the way that it was previously announced or the way we wound up spending it. There could be a third way entirely which, by the way, included overspending it by $78 billion. He could find a whole new way to spend your money. Do you remember when just a couple of minutes, just a couple of minutes ago you weren't so pissed off? Perhaps that's why today the announcement of Geithner's plan has been delayed for a day. Why remind you of the disaster of TARP when you still have time to call your senator's office and tell them not to vote for the stimulus package. Hello, Maine. Hello, Maine, I'm talking to you. Hello, Pennsylvania, I'm talking directly to you. Jeez. You probably think that people like me would be a little conspiratorial. "Surely there's another reason he's delaying this." I mean, I'm sure "TurboTax" Tim has a stomach virus or his kid has a soccer game or something that, you know, a regular guy like you that used to work for the IMF and then didn't pay his taxes even though he's a financial genius, somebody just like you is doing. Not so much according to Larry Summers, the head of the national economic council. He said on this week with George Stephanopoulos that the White House wants to keep the focus on the roughly $800 billion fiscal stimulus package making its way through congress. Quote: I think there's a desire to keep the focus on the recovery program which is so very, very important. Wait a minute. More important than the first thing we did to stop the collapse? Yeah, because this one is going to stop the collapse. Don't you see -- do you remember when the world made sense? Don't worry about it. Everything's going to be fine. They want you to focus on the $800 billion before we get to that $350 billion, which they'll do before we get to the $4 trillion that some are now saying are going to be required for us to stop the hemorrhaging at the banks. Yeah.

By the way, how much have you put on the line already? Remember, from George Washington until, what was it, August or September, we had racked up a debt of $10 trillion. Remember last year they just raised the debt ceiling to 10? "Well, that's crazy, we'll never..." and all the Democrats are like, "We have got to stop this outrageous spending!" Right. $10 trillion in August. How much have we spent so far? Since October, $9.7 trillion. But don't worry. Like I said earlier, that's only enough money to pay off 90% of all the mortgages in America.

VOICE: That was even more overwhelming evidence that we are destined to be a bunch of socialist pigs very, very soon on the Glenn Beck program.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

I really like Glenn. Especially after that DVD you sent to me. But I listen to his radio show every day now and it's getting harder and harder to tell him apart from Rush Limbaugh. He's now more mocking, sarcastic and vilifying than I remember and frankly, it just sounds like every other frustrated, misguided right-wing, tax-cut conservative in the cesspool.
It's too bad because he seemed to me to be fair and balanced (not like Fox news) despite his own personal beliefs.

F'in hell! I have to put "joking" after every post now? See, you said "He's 100% straight up full of solid human waste." Which is funny! Then I thought it would be funny (wrongly, apparently) to counter that with "What a shitty thing to say" referring to your excrement reference. Sort-of like trying to take the joke one step further.

I don't care what anyone calls Obama. I'm just glad I'm not him right now. It's his job to try to save a sinking ship where half of the crew are completely ungrateful and equally unhelpful, despite the invitation to come up with better ideas.

BTW; three republicans chosen for the Obama camp. I haven't heard anyone mention this unprecedented action, and that's because it is something positive.

I agree that it is a terrible thing to say. No one, no matter the party or what the person has done should be treated like this.

And I am not joking.

Siggs, I don't want you or anyone else here who has been slamming politicians with unkind personal remarks to leave.

I don't like much of what I see going on today in our nation, either. Haven't for quite some time.

I believe that we can have lively political discussions without calling anyone names or making disparaging remarks about them personally.

We can address issues. We can talk about the issues without referring to heads up body parts, people being excrement, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Name-callng and personal slams do nothing to further a discussion on an issue.

Fair enough t. You're right, of course, but sometimes it's just so difficult to not insult when they're doing the opposite of what ya think is right. But still, we are all adults here, so yeah. But just once more for old time's sake, eh?

George Bush and Sarah Palin are two of the dumbest, poor examples of good leadership that have ever had aspirations beyond school hall monitor...and they are poopy-heads.

As I said we're all mature adults here. :-D

On a serious note, the stimulus plan has been pared down.

A list of some programs that have been cut, either entirely or partially:

Partially cut:

? $100 million from law enforcement wireless (original bill $200 million)

? $100 million from FBI construction (original bill $400 million)

Fully eliminated

? $55 million for historic preservation

? $122 million for Coast Guard polar icebreaker/cutters

? $100 million for Farm Service Agency modernization
Don't Miss

So Republicans are still saying no. Still blocking movement and some even believe that we should let the country fail and try to come back somehow organically.
Hey Obama, you tried, bud. You attempted to do it with everyone, not just Dems. Sliced out now are tons of things that I look upon and see as useful, real-people programs and ways to create jobs.
You tried, man. But you won the damned big boy contest, so it may be time to just say screw you guys, I'm going home...er NO! I mean screw you guys, we're going to put back in all of the original "pork" and you clock-blocking Republicans can sit, arms folded, faces pinched while we do SOMETHING, without you, to bring confidence and eventual prosperity back to the country that Limbaugh said he is ashamed of today on his radio broadcast. Lay it on the line, Barry. Kick them in the proverbial wedding tackle, then punt this plan though the post and let the blue chips fall where they may.

Phew! That was long.

You reminded me of something I've been wondering on and off for some time now...

The president will get this with or without Republican support. There aren't enough of them to block it. It's a done deal. So, why have he and other leading Democrats been so ANGRY? Why not just shrug off the opposition and do it without them? What's all the anger for?

That goes right back to the analogy of bleeding the little girl to cure her fever. DO SOMETHING!

We'd be better off if they did nothing. Even the Congressional Budget Office has pointed that out, as have many economists.

And if you're inclined to respond with "Bush sucks!" again, that's fine. We would have been better off without his supposed stimulus package as well.

Failed policies from last year amplified and expanded. It was bad then and it's worse now. This part of Obama is just Bush on steroids.

I'm thinking he seems angry because of the building frustration of trying to do what he aspires to do and being snubbed by half MUST be infuriating, if not nauseating. What he wants is for the parties to come together for the good of, well, us.
You and I haven't lost our jobs, but millions of others have. And hundreds-of-millions if you believe Pelosi  and why shouldn't it be done by the entire political body rather than all of the glory, blame, responsibility, eventual votes (or not) and even down to the actual content being on the shoulders of the party that happens to be in majority? He asked for ideas from everyone and gets McCain and the like just going negative-bomb on him.

As I said in another post. Go get 'em Barry. You tried, bro. Screw it.

Democrats, and liberals in general, feed on anger. Without anger, they are not perceived as needed. They thrive on victim mentality. When someone feels like a victim, they get angry. Then the Dems can step in "on their behalf." They feed off the power the "victims" give them.

Without anger, there is no need to have help to get even. Hence, there would be no Dems.
