I will let her know.

We were all outside working in the garage. She came out to ask if she could type out a song on the computer. So I pulled up a Word page and she typed it out.

I came in to save it and fixed a couple spelling errors.

Can you believe she is only 9 on 4/28???

She amazes us all the time. Very Happy Smile

To be only 9 years and have a concept of what love is, and to be able to convey it in verse is a testament to how great you and Leon are as parents and people.

M = Makes yummy cookies
O = Only 39 years old
M = Married to my Dad
M = My mom's favorite color is purple
Y = Yells at my puppy

I thought this was pretty genious for an almost 9 year old. Hope you like it.

Those are a bunch of fun to read! I think it's great when kids into writing. Especially when they think neat things like mommy is only 39 (that can seem to be really old to a kid) and when they write about love so.

Then I don?t have
To leave

Can do anything
You want to do
Every single
Day with you
Is a special
DAY
Very Happy Very good Very Happy and I hope she keeps that view in life. You and Leon are doing a wonderful job raising Shayla. Cool

THE MARINE

We all came together,
Both young and old
To fight for our freedom,
To stand and be bold.

In the midst of all evil,
We stand our ground,
And we protect our country
From all terror around.

Peace and not war,
Is what some people say.
But I'll give my life,
So you can live the American way.

I give you the right
To talk of your peace.
To stand in your groups,
And protest in our streets.

But still I fight on,
I don't bitch, I don't whine.
I'm just one of the people
Who is doing your time.

I'm harder than nails,
Stronger than any machine.
I'm the immortal soldier,
I'm a U.S. MARINE.

So stand in my shoes,
And leave from your home.
Fight for the people who hate you,
With the protests they've shown.

Fight for the stranger,
Fight for the young.
So they all may have,
The greatest freedom you've won.

Fight for the sick,
Fight for the poor
Fight for the cripple,
Who lives next door.

But when your time comes,
Do what I've done
For if you stand up for freedom,
You'll stand when the fight's done...

I am not feeding my ego but when I wrote this little ditty awhile back the same day I decided to (naively I might add) enter it in a couple of poetry contests. Anyway this dam thing has took on a life of it's own, life imitating art, art imitating life whatever you want to call it. I was named a poetry ambassador for the international Library of poetry and I received an editors choice award. I never replied to them because I feel it's just a freaking scam however it is almost scary how it has taken on a life of it's own with more than one person committing suicide since I wrote it even the day of, it was like WTF just saying I find it quite a curiosity. Of course when I entered the contests I changed a couple of words to match the world wide web not just by-tor.

Oh' will I sadly be cast aside
on words of misfortunes tides,
will By-Tor hear my cry
or will I die in cyber sky?

In PM'S whom can I confide?
Can not for all I provide,
Concede for I am your guide
In furlongs cyber sky.

Surviving thru these dreary days
searching for words to say.
But I burn and blaze
in cyber's maze.

For pleasure with flight
all will cheer beyond my sight.
With wings I take flight
out of your cyber society's site!

teary windows of lifes supersitious fears
garrisons of Iris's drinking life
consuming time caught up in devotions

Crossing bridges slumped down
dog-tired with dread and misery
it's been a pleasent expression of inquiry
A propostion I can not quite too

......unfinished....

Older poetry is cool, too! And unfinished poetry. Keep working on your poetry. I really like the visual in "Iris's drinking life".

Judge NOT

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber? Give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' said He, 'they're all in shock.

No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

Judge NOT.

Mary had a little lamb,
Her father shot it dead.
Now it goes to school with her,
Between two hunks of bread.

********************

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
To have a little fun.
Stupid Jill forgot the pill,
And now they have a son.

********************

Simple Simon met a pie man,
Going to the fair.
Said Simple Simon to the pie man,
'What have you got there?'
Said the pie man unto Simon,
'Pies, you dumbass.'

********************

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the kings' horses,
And all the kings' men,
Had scrambled eggs for breakfast again.

********************

Hey diddle, diddle, the cat took a piddle,
All over the bedside clock.
The little dog laughed to see such fun,
Then died of electric shock.

********************

Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry.
And when the boys came out to play,
He kissed them too 'cause he was gay.

********************

There was a little girl who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad........
She got a fur coat, jewels, a waterfront condo, and a sports car.

My emotions are like a black hole

obliterating everything that draws near

then cannibalizing itself

circle back mood upon mood

failed tests of so many days before

the opera of my mind

a friend... an enemy
