Bad Luck or a Warning?

Post by EndlesslyRocking »

A couple of years ago, I won a portrait of Geddy Lee, taken during the My Favorite Headache sessions. It was numbered and signed by Andrew MacNaughton. My wife had it matted and framed for me, and it's hung on our living room "Wall of Fame" ever since.

This afternoon, I was sitting on the couch, watching TV and folding laundry (oh, the glamorous life of the Married With Children...) when I heard a creeking sound followed by a loud crash! My hook had detached, and the whole thing smashed on the ground. The glass broke into a million pieces, and the picture is badly damaged from the shards.

So my question to you is: WTF????

Just a victim of circumstances? Bad luck,? Kharma? Witch's spell? Or a warning from the future, a foreshadowing of terrible things yet to befall me?

That's a shame but look on the bright side at least it didn't land on your head severing your jugler

It makes you wonder and I for one know about wierd Kharma, you just never know.

I wish you didn't get my nerves on edge like that. :?

I think you're just reading an awful lot into a picture being broken.

Kharma /= Dharma /= Karma

:P

That or Geddy is going to be seriously injured on the night of a show in your area! I would seriously consider calling Miss Cleo if I were you.

PICTURE FALL

My guess is a weak spot in you wall plaster, or maybe the hook/wire on the back of the frame.

Life goes on.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that but I think perhaps yes, it's good it didn't hit anyone. :(

Och! That is a bummer!

Maybe Geddy decided he didn't want to be there anymore.

I don't think so. My Sting portrait is still intact...

It was such a nice picture too. Autographed and everything. The fact that I won it was icing on the cake. It was a "Major Award!" (for you Christmas Story fans).

I'm really bummed about it.

There are several deep gashes in the portrait where glass cut into it. It's not completely useless, but certainly not in good condition. The frame was a total loss.

About 7 feet, over a hard tile floor.
