Who likes Primus???

Post by 3 travelers »

I heard Primus do a version of La Villa during their last tour. Absolutely amazing! They also do the first 2 mins. of YYZ. I remember when Primus opened for Rush on the RTB tour. Best show I've ever seen!!!

I saw them on that tour as well and, I must admit, I wasn't too impressed.

I have to concur there Slaine,I saw them in Glasgow on the same tour, and thought they were pretty ordinary.

To be fair they weren't helped by a power failure in mid song....
Ach, if Dougie was here he'd tell you himself....

I've never been a big Primus fan, altough I respect the love for Rush and like "Wynonna Has a Big Brown Beaver."

"Primus Sucks" - isn't that what their fans say?

Les does play some wild stuff so it is hard to follow at times. I am a bigger fan of the older stuff. Their first two studio albums were great. I even scratch my head at the newer stuff.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion Sir... it's all good. I drive people crazy when I put Primus on. I guess it's an acquired taste.

Primus is a lot of fun to listen to...but you either love 'em or hate 'em. I think I actually like Claypool's Frog Brigade more though...their live cover of Pink Floyd's Animals is great - I also like their cover of KC's Thela Hun Ginjeet.

I thought they were the best opening band I've seen touring with Rush.
If I had seen the tour with Marillion though that would have been #1.
