Rush played here last on April 28, 1980. A mere 2 minute walk from where I grew up. And I missed it..... I was 12 of course but damnit anyway... .. and judging from the setlist it was probably a great show too. now I am truly bummed... ****"Soup4Rush hangs his head and goes back to work****

yeah, they played the same venue, I might again add within a block of where I grew up, in April of 1977.. It looks like that was the only two times they played my hometown, I was 9 for that one. It would have been cool if my parents would have been Rush fans and would have taken me to a show. But Nooooooooooooooooooo!!! And you think that stinks, how bout this... I have said before in other threads that Neil got his equipment here at what was The Fort Wayne Percussion Center from the Signals era up to Show your Hands... and the guy that owned the Percussion Center, Neal Graham, was the drum coordinator for our high school marching band. The year after I graduated (1987) Mr Peart gave a drum clinic here in my hometown and guess who missed it? Yep, yours truly.... I was busy doing pushups at Great Lakes Navy boot camp in the dead of winter.... I heard from some of my friends that it was pretty cool though.... and that is my story, so close but not quite.... ahhh me.........***Soup4Rush hangs his head and goes to get a drink so it won't hurt anymore***

I was into the disco thing at that age, but the turning point in my life came in 1981 when I won a Moving Pictures album in a raffle drawing. I was hooked and disco was in the rear view mirror. Mom would not let me go to concerts though and by the time she would, Rush had outgrown our small venue... although, I did get to see Van Halen in 1984 there. Thank Ged for Rush and Moving Pictures or I would probably be into hip hop or something now....

Soup, man! You had a horrid childhood; that explains alot about you.

When H was a wee babe, I went to my local music store that I hung out at, and met Vinnie Appice who was doing a drum clinic. Little did I know he would become one of her favourite drummers and be bummed I did not take her too. Poor wee lass.
