Sheffield Photos

Here are my first batch of pics from the Sheffield gig. some of them are a bit blurred due to various reasons but I think they give some of the energy in the section of crowd where I was. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v694/yyz2112/Sheffield/2007_10_06_001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...

Belated Review - Sheffield Arena 6/10/7

The last time I went to Sheffield Arena was back in 1992 on the RTB tour and, to be honest, I felt a little let down afterwards. Our seats were up on the balcony and we had a thick cable obscuring our view of the stage, the sound was pretty poor up there and an overzealous bouncer seemed to want to ...

I'm Back!

Sorry I've been away so long but, with one thing and another, I've either not had the time or been in the mood (no pun intended - oh, who am I trying to kid).

But, new year (hopefully) new attitude and I'll be making more of an effort.

Its been a while and I've had enough time to assimilate S&A past the initial flush of a new album and I've got to say that I love it - in fact, in my opinion, its the best since Moving Pictures. There's a wonderful sense of fatalism that runs through the whole album which closely matches the way...

I still think P/G as being the darkest Rush have got and, echoing Fridge's comments earlier, the starkness of the production can sens chills down the spine.

No wonder its one of my favourites.

Although I've never been a big fan of Budgie, I do remember seeing them back in the early 80s and thoroughly enjoying them. Just one of theose bands I've never caught up with.

My friend tried to get us tickets at Manchester on the 14th (due to the EuCon being held their in the afternoon) but he was told they were sold out. Instead, we'll be going to Sheffield on the 6th and, hopefully, Brum on the 12th

I may have said this before but...

You know you love Rush when, while listening to 'Sound of Silence' on the radio, you sing
'For the words of the profits were were written on the studio wall/Concert hall
and start cheering.

They single does remind me of VT though. With less distortion though :-D The debate regarding the different eras of Rush will continue as long as there are people who listen to the band. Most seem to have a prefeerence for a particular period which, if that is how their music listening faculties wo...

Just listening to it now and I have to say that I'm well impressed (can't copy it as I'm at the library).

Good punchy song which bodes well for the new album, especially as it doesn't seem to suffer from the production/mastering problems that VT did.

Roll on the new album.
