I have a client who is quite vague but thinks I kmow just what he means. I walked in one day after taking out the recycling and he said. looking directly at me, "It's just like that thing they had." Ummmm...hunh? Who? and what? and... It wasn't the continuation of a conversation we had been having, either. it was about some show he was watching.
