Avatar is incredible pure and simple.
The visual experience is of course expensive magic but I for one thought the story arc, derived from many recognisable but familiar elements ticked all the boxes in good classic story telling. Ok, sterotypical baddies that may remind us of someone we know :-D but the tale of the greedy armed white man resonates due to simple truth, we have not been very nice people. Ferngully indeed :)
I urge you to sit back and enjoy the tale and I defy you not to feel at least something when you do... and the soundtrack is incredible (a hint of Karl Jenkins for anyone in the know) I love everything about it and it's taken the Ogg house by storm.

ps: Alas the computer game is shite :)
