Moving Pictures...Red Barchetta kicks ass

Post by Xanadu »

Red Barchetta is the most awesome song. I just experienced the COOLEST thing yesterday. I was on acid  and riding in my friend's car and we had just finished a big doobie...smoking weed on acid (esp if you have low tolerance to bud) really bumps up your trip. Add to that I was already tripping my ass off on my peak. We were listening to The Moody Blues, good trip music I might add but I realized we were near this big long bridge so I put in MP and put in o track 2...

OMG holy shit we had Red Barchetta blasting and my friend was going like 80 on the bridge and OMG it was just like the video on Chroncles...all the light posts had trails...excitement shivered up and down my spine...the blur of the landscape...every nerve aware  AAAAAaaaaaaa...my adrenaline level was higher than when going down a hill on a roller coater the hole way across the bridge...my senses were crossed and the music sounded SO WEIRD and just intensified the effects. I laughed my ass off so hard....omg...

Suddenly ahead of me
Across the mountainside
A gleaming alloy air-car
Shoots towards me, two lanes wide.
I spin around with shrieking tires
To run the deadly race
Go screaming through the valley
As another joins the chase.

I was looking at the ships on the shore of the other side when this part was playing...they looked all cartoon like sitting there staring at me like big monsters LMAO! Holy shit Red Barchetta is the most awesome song.

YYZ was next and really awesome as well as it kept my adrenaline up...then my friend wanted to listen to Ozzy which was pretty cool too.

Red Barchetta does, indeed, kick ass.

Major ass.

Good thread. I was driving from Boston to The Berkshires a few years ago and Red Barchetta was playing loudly and often as I was shifting and drifting in my Maxima. Great song! Great band.

RIR: I bet the Dragon Attack at the beginning of One Little Victory was quite fun...

It been a long time for me, but I hear the Dead is touring this summer. May be time to restock and clean out the ol' perceptual pathways...

Good job you weren't at Sheffield on the RTB tour then. One of them had got a slow puncture and was slowly deflating during Tom Sawyer. I hadn't had anything mind expanding but it still looked quite freraky.

Fiat makes Barchettas today, but you can't get them in the US.
