Finish Your Food and Compost Your Plate?

Has anyone here seen or used the biodegradable food packaging/tableware yet?

I had heard about the biodegradable bowls but never seen anything I could eat out of and then compost before today. This evening I knew I would be eating alone and so I got myself some hot and sour soup and the bowl is made mostly of corn starch so it can be thrown in my home compost bin. I wasn't so sure how such a bowl would hold up to hot liquid, but it did great and is now under my sink in my to-be-composted bucket awaiting a trip outside.

Future home of my hot and sour soup bowl:

I'm afraid I'd be too tempted to eat the bowl when the soup was gone...

Or use it as a natural wildlife feeder.
Whoa, did I just say that?

It was hard like plastic and stayed that way through the meal. I am not sure how long it will take to break down in the compost pile, especially since it isn't always hot hot hot like it could be.

Most excellent! I like them with broccoli cheese soup or with spinach asparagus dip.
