Greetings peeps!

haven't been around much lately. I have had a second grandchild in the interim and here she is with "Grumpa" (as her parents insist on calling me)

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I posted here, and it seems strange that this is the thread I do it in...... When I was younger, I was an unmitigated mess. I would drink, smoke, snort, absorb and yes, even inject anything that was in front of me. I "remember" (though that's probabl...

Pardon the pun but words escape me on this one. Actually, a lot of people do that to p*ss off fans 'cause they KNOW such a claim is rediculous. Rush fans are notoriously rabid and claims like that up the "hits" to his site. Who knows? Isn't that obvious? Folks shouldn't take these ...

I feel I was a bit negative with my first reply, it's just that things are a lot differnt than they once was. I use to be happy-go-lucky now it's much differnt I guess I miss that child like feeling I use to have. I don't know it's hard to explain it's the sustained happiness I lost. I am trying to...

I'm a bit confused (no mystery there), and I mean absolutely no disrespect, but reading back through all the posts I don't see any (apart from awip's observations/theory that Americans are spoiled, with which I can only partly agree) posts that suggest that satisfaction has to do with material gain...

It's interesting reading what seems to make people "satisfied", and to be honest it is no surprise that the West (As I think the UK is in the same vein as the USA, though perhaps to a lesser degree) measures this by material gain. Myself, I stopped worrying about all this some time ago whe...

At the risk of sounding COMPLETELY ignorant...what's "buckfest" or "buckie?" I wouldn't worry Kares. Unless you are from Scotland it's highly unlikely you would know about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckfast_Tonic_Wine See this link and read the "Buckfast in Po...

Nice pics...

That brought back memories. I used to go to Burntisland (correct spelling :D) quite a lot when I was growing up in Edinburgh...

I can picture it as if it was yesterday.

Don't get ill in a crane!

Had an "interesting" morning a few days ago which I thought I would share .... One of the crane drivers decided to have a heart attack in the cab of the forward crane which is about 100 feet above deck level. I had to rush to the scene and stabilise him in a very cramped area, then supervi...
