I didn't say they'd never do those things. I said - several times - that such mundane activities should not be expected to make the news headlines.

Or am I wrong about that?

Here's What You WON'T See In The News: ...'cept that at least FOUR of them are published by news agencies.... The first looks photoshopped to me. The lighting's all wrong. The second is obviously staged - and equally obviously not anything newsworthy. According to your own list the guy in #3 is gay...

When I say it isn't going to make the mainstream, I mean that it isn't going to go big and be a huge issue out there for all to read about in the various local papers and see on their local stations. I think this will be disregarded quickly and people will move away from it fast and few of the Amer...

The strongest argument against this story having any real meaning is that all of the caches were pre-1991 and were not ready to immediately be used in combat. Right. This is just a re-announcement of stuff we already knew about. Even before the invasion, we were getting regular "we found 'em!!...

Re: Science Question for the Chemically Challanged

If I freeze tap water in an ice cube tray, will that freeze away the chlorine and the assorted chemicals that are in my tap water? Nope. The chlorine might evaporate out before the water freezes (or after it thaws), but the freezing itself won't get rid of it. What would happen if I froze the treat...

I just checked the news, and there's no mention of WMD in Iraq.

In fact, for a change there's no mention of Iraq at all on the BBC News home page.

Can't argue with that - but it doesn't make his software suck any less.

... it turns out that I deleted some accessories and games earlier when I was trying to make room on my "D" drive for a successful defragmentation. It's all good now, though :-D ! ... In that case you can blame Microsoft for the broken shortcuts: the uninstall should've removed them along...

PS - that "target" may include something like %systemroot% or something else enclosed by a pair of percent-signs. If so, that's an alias for a specific folder on your hard drive. What folder corresponds to what alias will depend on what version of Windows you're running. If you pick "...

Hmmm. Ok, try right-clicking one of the faulty shortcuts, and select "properties." You'll get a new window. It'll have a bunch of stuff about the shortcut and the program it's supposed to link to. Find "Target" and make a note of it. Then open a "my computer" window, an...

Also, I have another computer-related question...I have somehow lost the WordPad, Calculator, Solitaire, and Pinball programs that were supplied for free when I bought my laptop. I know I had them a couple days ago, but now when you look at the icons on the desktop for them, the icons are blank win...

RFID chips for domestic animals is a Good Idea. They're invaluable for identifying stolen or lost (ok, found) pets. And in farm animals they're a pretty good way to track the movements of animals from farm to farm to slaughterhouse.... Even if its great for big corporate farms and very bad for the ...

Well the website is a lot of scaremongering and not a lot else. RFID chips for domestic animals is a Good Idea. They're invaluable for identifying stolen or lost (ok, found) pets. And in farm animals they're a pretty good way to track the movements of animals from farm to farm to slaughterhouse. And...
