WTF? I just replaced all my VHS tapes with DVDs and now I have to replace them with this Blue Ray shit? This is giving me a headache.

The laser that reads the disc is blue.
And it was invented by a guy named Ray.

:-D

I think it's like a hi-def DVD.

BTW, the players do play with a blue laser, and that is part of the reason
it is blue-ray, as humorous as my response was.

Anyhoo, on a Simpsons episode years past,
Homer and the kids brought something to the landfill,
and in the background there were spots for records, beta tapes
vhs tapes and a section with a sign "reserved for DVD's"
:)

its too bad blu-ray is so damned expensive. I mean 700ish launch prices? come on. Without a 2000$ tv and matching sound system you cannot even tell the difference.

PS3 has bluray and its ~$600US.

A gaming system AND Bluray player in one. I think its worth it.
