Hey all you Scots...

Post by by-tor »

My wife is looking for her family over there. Her family is from Motherwell, and the family name is MacMillan. Her grandfather, William MacMillan was born there on March 24th, 1917. We don't know if he had any siblings, but if any of you know the area, and know some MacMillan's, ask around for me if you would. Danke'

No, she doesn't know that. She only knows about her grandfather because she got a hold of his discharge papers for WWII. He fought with the Canadian Army, but the papers show that he was born in Motherwell, and became a Canadian citizen in 1936.

He died in Canada, mid-late 1960's.

My wife's grandfather's surname is also MacMillan.

His name is Walter MacMillan. Can't remember if the spelling is MacMillan or just McMillan.

They may be related. He is currently living in Stenhousemuir, Falkirk.

Hope this is of some help.
