Some reasons why depression really sucks

Post by AK »

I feel a rant coming on...

I've had this problem for 11.5 months now. ONE SHOULDN'T HAVE IT SO LONG! For one thing, I'm tired nearly all day. I take a nap every day, which is odd because I used to HATE doing it. I sure don't feel rested when I wake up.

I can't concentrate in school. I can't focus on one thing at a time. This is partly due to another thing, whichk will be mentioned later. It's starting to get me into trouble because I WORK SLOWLY NOW.

I want to die. Yes, you read that correctly, I WANT TO DIE!1 I want to take something and just kill myself. I promised several Rushians here, however, that I wouldn't. I go see my psychiatrist next month, so that will be nice if I'm still here.

Until then, the fight with myself shall continue. Oh, joy. (sarcasm)

There are a lot of things I can't do, and I'm alive.

AK,
I must admit I sat and stared at the page for a while, not knowing if I should reply, not knowing what to say, but feeling compelled to say something, as I'm sure a few did before me.
You're not alone, dude. I know that's not much help and may seem superficial coming from a stranger. Still, maybe you'll find some comfort in the knowledge that most of us have something that makes us question our existence from time-to-time. When I'm pissed because of some limitation or another, I think of that old man in the hospital bed. Can't walk, eat or "bathroom" himself. Can barely remember those around him. He wishes he had my dilemma. Wishes he could even feel pain again.
I won't go on. You get my point.
See a medical doctor, bro. If there's no shrink available to you now, telling these things to an MD can also be very beneficial.
You mentioned you have Rushian friends...that's reason enough to stick around right there.
I hope you get better soon. Keep us posted, eh?

I've been suffering from depression for ten years now, and was suicidal for nine. I actually wanted to die at the age of ten. I've had several years of hell, but it's finally starting to get a little better. I never thought it would, but it is. I quite honestly didn't believe I'd live to see 20, but here I am.

If you need to talk, AK, there are lots of us here willing to listen. We can't make everything perfect for you, but we'll help if we can.

All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars"

I know you get dizzy but try not to lose your nerve

AK, remember...OK?

Go back to the Dr. and tell the Dr. everything. MAKE them listen to you. Insist that they do.

Sometimes life gets me down AK but I get up and brush myself off.
Sometimes I got to use one of those big industrial brooms and there's still a bit I missed but those are meant to stay there for the wisdom it teaches me every time I mess up. I don't have any magic words for you only that
making a mess out of yourself is most certainaly not the way to go.

Anytime you want to talk about anything you can always count on me

I'm still looking for those Leprechauns that stole me gold and I got a top o'
the morning for them with some spiked shamrock soup.

I got to rush off to work now

peace

i can't say anything tha hasn't been already said, and i know that what i say won't miraculously fix everything but i do offer my support, as do a lot of other people on this board and that can help. your not going though this alone we are behind you to catch you if you fall. just hang in there man.
