Here is a pic taken in 1980, the day John Lennon was shot (note the button on me chest). It was in Baltimore, MD. at the Patapsco Street Rec center, with my beloved Gibson ES!

Oh wow! Zivo, tell me more about that guitar. What model and year is it? With the dog-eared P-90 pickups it's reminding me of the old Epiphone Casinos. It looks the shape of an ES-335 but I've never seen one with a pickup configuration like that.

Tell me more! :D

Elfie!
It's a Gibson ES 347. Got it in 1978, had it for many years. Wish I still had it  It got a great warm feedback if you wanted it. Very light, as the 347s were less "filled" than the 335s.

Wow... I'm not familiar with that model at all! So it was semi-hollow, and not hollow? I can't really see the bridge too well in that pic...

I've really gotten fond of the deepeness of tones from hollobodies in the last couple of years.

About that time time (1981) my main axe (though cheap) was a 1960's Contessa hollowbdy. It was made in Italy by EKO (I think)... the same company that made Vox guitars. I would have loved a Gibson...
