Thin Lizzy

Post by rushlight »

Hello! :-D I am a fan of Thin Lizzy, thanks to my little devil. :D Some of their songs are great such as Randolph's Tango, A Song for While I'm Away, Jailbreak, and The Boys are Back in Town. They actually came to S.A. a few days ago. I know Phil Lynott passed away a long time ago but for anybody who is also a fan, besides D.A. and me, do you know who took over vocals? I can't find info. anywhere. Help me! :D :-D

Did you try www.thin-lizzy.com ? (their site doesn't work for me due to crappy design, but with an equally crappy web-browser you may have more luck)

Correct.....As of late 2002, John Sykes was doing double-duty, guitar and vocals....Cold Sweat is supposedly the first track he ever did with TL...[/i]

They didn't really get the 2-guitar harmonies until Brian Robertson joined, and then they took off...Snowy White was basically a blues player trying to make a living playing rock, so he didn't last long, and Midge Ure was pretty much a fill-in too...Scott Gorham was the old salt who always had to help the new guy....Basically, Gorham/Moore and Robertson WERE the TL sound...BTW, Phil Lynott could really PLAY bass too...

When I saw them for the last time in '83, Lynott had a MIRROR attached to his bass, and he would point it at the crowd and aim it, casting lasers and spots on the crowd, making them THINK he had a laser mounted to his bass...Very cool...Miss You Phil!!

Their album covers were sooo well made. I only have about 3 albums and Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the Worlds where Phil Lynott played a character named Parson nathaniel.

Live and Dangerous is probably the MASTERPIECE of Live albums....Even tho' Frampton (I guess  ) still holds the record for best-selling live album, Thin Lizzy set the standard by which all other bands--EVEN TO THIS DAY--have to outdo...
