A great performance from Porcupine Tree?s concert DVD
"Arriving Somewhere."

The song is ?Blackest Eyes? from the album "In Absentia."

The drummer in this band, Gavin Harrison, is a monster.
I?m talking Godzilla-type monster. Scary.
About time mate, welcome to the club :-) .

Incidently (no pun intended) the forthcoming Porcupine Tree album 'The Incident' has been leaked already :( and two weeks before release at that. For the first time ever I'm not downloading ! I've decided to wait for my preordered standard cd and ltd edition box set :-D ...oh and five weeks until I see them live for the first time :-) .

SPOILER ALERT! Setlist below....

Porcupine Tree at the Electric Factory - Philadelphia PA - 09/26/09
Setlist - Electric Factory
The Incident:
Occam's Razor
The Blind House
Great Expectations
Kneel and Disconnect
Drawing the Line
The Incident
Your Unpleasant Family
The Yellow Windows of the Evening Train
Time Flies
Degree Zero of Liberty
Octane Twisted
The S?ance
Circle of Manias
I Drive the Hearse - False start; Steven Wilson's guitar out of tune

Intermission

The Start of Something Beautiful
Russia on Ice/Anesthetize (The Pills I'm Taking)
Normal
Strip the Soul/.3
Bonnie the Cat

Encores:
The Sound of Muzak
Trains

Lots of technical difficulties encountered by Steven who said that anything that could go wrong did but was happy to get my favorite mix of tunes from this tour. The Incident was incredible but my favorite part of the show was Russia On Ice, Anesthetize, and Normal.

I had some real concerns about the venue but it kind of reminded me of seeing Blackfield at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC but with a much larger room.

I caught the setlist elsewhere by mistake...no 'Blackest Eyes'! Anyway, pleased you got to see them already RFF. My tickets arrived today and I get to see them in a week for the frist time...with my sixteen year old son (who has been playing nothing else), so looking forward to it. I read that you're asked not to applause until the end of the entire The Incident?
I've played TI every day since release and it's up there with the best albums ever imho...and the ltd edition box set is rather special. I dragged the dvd-audio files onto my hard drive and listen via my rather lovely 5.1 set up...simply perfect.

Oh, btw RFF. I always think of you when I watch my Blackfield live dvd :)

Hope you enjoyed the show Ogg!

That Blackfield night was a special night for Liz and I. I flew from Georgia to New Jersey the night before and then we took the train to NYC during an ice storm. We met a friend of mine in the city who proceeded to have us walk about 20 blocks through the snow until we finally arrived at the venue.

At the time I was really pissed at my buddy for putting us through that but now it is a cherished memory.

Ogg,

How are you mate? Not spoken to you in ages. Just thought I'd let you know, I have a copy of the show from the previous night (8/10/09) and it's fantastic quality. It was recorded at the O2 Arena in Leeds.

The set is almost the same as what you experienced in Bristol but with no Lazarus or Way Out Of Here for some reason.

If you want a copy then feel free to PM me with your address and I'll get it off to you ASAP.

I'm going to see PT in Glasgow on 11th December and can't wait for that. This will be my 3rd time I've seen them live. Saw them on the very last date of the Fear Of A Blank Planet tour and before that (as a sort of pre-tour) when FOABP hadn't even been recorded but some songs were written and were being test-driven on the audience for the first time. I remember hearing Anaesthetize for the first time before it was recorded and thinking, WOW this new album is going to be amazing!!!
