Yes, it's true. TMBG is very proud to announce that their latest children's project,
Here Come The 123s, has WON THE 2009 GRAMMY AWARD for Best Musical Album for Children!

The band would like to gratefully acknowledge the ENTIRE creative team of people in the project who helped create Here Come the 123s: Dan, Danny and Marty, producer Pat Dillett and the Kampo crew, and the Dust Bros. for Seven. Thanks to The Deeply Felt Puppet Theater, Melissa Jun, and all the other visual artists and animators behind the DVD. Praise to Hornblow Group and Disney Sound, and of course the Mighty Wives and families of TMBG.
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Oh, good for them! They've got a great album there and deserve it for sure! I still enjoy their Here Come the 1,2,3s on my iPod.

I still can't percieve TMBG doing anything greater than the theme song from
"Malcolm in the Middle"

Does it get any better than that?

So, just over two years since the last time my daughter and I saw them they are on tour again... this time promoting an new kids album called Here Comes Science. There's a song Al Gore should listen to, but that's another story.

They returned to my great state doing TWO shows this time, one last Friday night for ages 21 and up and a 3:00 PM family show yesterday! Since both my daughters are under 21 we opted for the family show. My older daughter wanted to be there as early as possible after her experience in Boise two years ago, and it was general admission... no reserved seats. So, she and I drove up early and arrived at about noon. Only two kids were in line in front of us who had been there since 7:00 AM.

My younger daughter had a school choir activity that morning so my girlfriend drove her up to join us in line at about 2:00. When the doors finally opened the four of us went right up to the front center. The guitar pedal boards were right there in front of me. If I'd wanted to be a jerk I could have tweaked all the knobs on them and messed things up. :) But instead I found myself making sure no kids touched them.

The family show was wonderful. They were really tight. And they had a 6th member touring with them this time, who played a lot of reed instruments... mostly sax. It was so cool to turn around and see that whole audience of all ages with huge smiles singing along to everything. And it was cool to be so close to the band members too.

Afterward my youngest scored a drumstick used during the show, which she was able to get the drummer (the D is for Drums guy) to autograph.

A very happy day indeed. I hope to eventually have a picture or two to share.
