I saw Genesis a while back....Chester Thompson (one of my fave drummers, along with Prairie Prince of The Tubes)was playing a kit that had j-shaped TUBULAR-SHELLED toms...very cool, and they had lots of punch....Can't remember who made 'em though...Almost as cool as the drums that Alex Van Halen played, that had connecting tubes between shells of his kit :-D

Those are sound projectors. Some old school drum corps and high school bands still use them.

And one day, at band camp........................

That is why I don't play this beauty anymore Cyg. I got tired of packing it too.

And this one was stolen 1 week before I cleared the service from Hawaii in 1989.

Yeah, the zebra kit is a 89 Tama Swingstar, misty chrome.... I bought them as soon as I got home from the Army to replace the red set. :(

The red one, also Tama Swingstar, but I bought them used and have no clue what year they were. All concert toms though, very cool kit.

The "Battle Flag" belonged to my room mate.

not a bad deal eh? what's that all "aboooot"? (hel-lo Canada :-D )

not a bad concert either...I saw the Rattle and Hum tour, and it was pretty accurate...

I may not be a drummer, but with all of us playing stuff I haul a ton of gear each week.

Not as much to deal with as Lorne has though. LOL!
