I am in day 5 of no smoking.. I quit last Thursday night.. Decided I needed to lose some weight as well.. so I got back into the gym the day after Thanksgiving. I had been going to the gym pretty regular but was slacking off bad this past summer, I decided to hit it hard, lost 22 pounds since Thanksgiving but the smoking was killing my workouts.. I run on an ellipictal and before I was doing 3 miles in 30 minutes, In just 4 days of no smoking, I did 4.6 miles last night in 30 minutes.. The first mile was a sub 7 minute mile. My workouts are much stronger too.. amazing how them little cancer sticks affect you..
I am going on a month here in a few days.. off the gum.. I must say I miss it sometimes but the benefits of not smoking outweigh the craving so onward and upward we go.
I don't lecture, but it is surely more gross now that I have a sense of smell again. More gross than it was when I was smoking. It was all about the addiction to nicotine and the tactile function of doing it that had me hooked. Smell and taste was always nasty to me.

Hey, I LOVED my smokes. I just got tired of planning my day around
how many cigarettes I had left. It was like, "Do I have enough in this
pack to get me through the day, or do I have to buy more RIGHT NOW?"
