I was thinking about this last night as I was thinking about our dear RushCon goers. Trekkies have conventions, right? Just like we do. LOL

Yep.

Instead of Spock Ears, convention goers could wear Geddy Noses...

Much much bigger conventions!

Of course... Trekkies don't get to go to concert tours. Rush comes here and sells 10,000 tickets. If Shatner came here to perform his music I doubt he'd sell anywhere near that...

I wonder how many people would pay to see Geddy act!

I remember watching in amazement as Geddy sang, played bass, and played the keyboards with his feet. I thought, "Who is this guy???"

There could also be kimono costumes, and Neil mustaches, and all sorts of things like that.

Most people did not like hearing Spock sing. His poetry and his music got really bad reviews.

My older brother had the Nimoy Spock album when we were growing up and I thought it was a RIOT!!!!

"Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins! Bravest little hobbit of them all!" :-D

But I thought his reading of Disiderata was cool. Every time I read that I think of Spock (Nimoy) reciting it with his deep voice.

I remember the Bilbo Baggins song! That one and the Highly Illogical thing. Those were way more fun than Shatner's Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds!

Which one, the Shatner song? Your kids must have quite a sense of camp!

Of course, then you have Stewie from Family Guy going Shatner on Rocket Man. So bad it's...really bad.

"This is the worlds only working phaser. It was only used once, to prevent William Shatner from making another album."

Oh...that's much better...

You know, in the United States, we have child abuse laws that cover this sort of thing...

Dr. Demento! Dr. Demento!

I miss hearing his shows. Songs like Cheerleaders on Drugs, Boomer the Bassgrunge, Three Blind Jellyfish, Fisheads, The Great Smoke Off, The Scotsman, and who can forged the perennial punk classic, Dead Puppies!
