Comedy (apparently)

I can't believe it.

Then again, listen to "The Trees" lyrics.

Remind you of anything going on today?

Nah....nothing to see here folks....move along.

I wish I could say it surprised me, Elfie, but really what has surprised me is that they have not done this sooner. I always enjoyed hearing them used as bumper music but wonderd why they allowed someone who is so outspoken in opposition to many of their beliefs to use their songs.

Back in the 70's their beliefs were pretty similar. 2112, The Trees, Something For Nothing, and all that.

2 questions arise for me:

1. Which member has the heartburn with it - or was it a group decision?

and:

2. Is it strictly a copyright/royalty issue?

After all, I hear Rush tunes before TV and radio sports intermissions all the time.

If their lawyer is to be believed, the band objected to, “using Rush’s recorded music as part of what is essentially a political broadcast", hence my original point.
If that's what they're worried about, they shouldn't have gone near The Colbert Report.
The truth appears to be that they simply jumped on a bandwagon of selective indignation.

Oh well. I'll still buy the new CD when it comes out. 8)

I won't put politics before the music, but it's their work so it's entirely
their decision alone.

I'm definitely disappointed, but it is what it is.

I'm sure it isn't an issue at the sports events and such, or even in Limbaugh's show, about the royalties. Even in church we have to pay to use the contemporary songs. We don't pay if we do hymns but if we play something like Casting Crowns' Who Am I we are required to post the CClI number on the power point that we use so the people have the lyrics to sing along and we are supposed to pay a certain amount as well.

I like Casting Crowns. Especially "Glorious Day"

That song kicks. 8)

They are in my top fav Xn bands. I love that they don't just sing about the nice stuff an how wonderful it is to be a Christian. They talk about sin in the church and the tragedies of life. Kinda like many if the Psalms. The paalmists acknowledged all the icky stuff and pointed to G-d as the way through. And they even yelled at Him.

Wanna see a REAL dooshbag?

Look at Brietbart video #2 (Barry's favorite congressman accepts com_mie award)

That's must-see-tv right there. Why are the media hiding it? Any idea?

no worries..

allz I was saying is that it depends on who you watch..

CNN and MSNBC seem to kiss the left's ass while Fox kisses the right's ass.. a whole lot of mud slinging goes on from both sides.. whats true depends on who you watch..
